Electronic devices are a part of everyone’s daily lives. As we spend more time on our computers and phones, digital-related eye strain is becoming more of a common issue. Digital-related eye strain may cause the eyes to feel tired, become red, or blurry.
To avoid these symptoms, follow the 20-20-20 rule!
Every 20 minutes take a 20 second break and focus on an object that is 20 feet away. This will give the eye muscles a break and allow them to relax. It can also be beneficial to periodically use preservative-free artificial tears to refresh your eyes when they feel dry.
Be sure to give your mind and body a break too! Take the time to stand up, stretch, and move around. Also, stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
